Halo 3 Preview
E3 2007 Preview
For any Xbox 360 gamer, Halo 3 will certainly be high on their list for games to get this holiday season. After a brief multiplayer teaser on Xbox Live last month, gamers have been clamoring for more info on the title as well as more gameplay. At E3 this year, the team at Bungie showcased a brief look at the game’s single-player campaign, as well as some more info on the Save Film feature seen in the beta.
The single-player campaign begins in Sierra 117, which is the first level of the game. It featured lush jungle environments, as well as tons of intensity and action (could’ve been due to the fact that the game was set to Legendary). As the action progressed, Master Chief would get cheered on by his squadmates for every kill he made.
The single-player demo showcased the game’s weapons, including the Brute Shot and the Mini-Gun (which displays the action from a third-person perspective when being used). One nifty new item was the bubble shield, an item that encases you in a shield for a short time allowing you to recharge.
Whereas it was available in the MP beta, the Save Film feature was only presented in limited form. This feature, which allows you to record your favorite battle moments from Multiplayer matches, will be presented in a much more robust form in the final build of the game, letting you control your camera angles, follow certain characters, and zoom in on any point of interest you like.
The single-player campaign in Halo 3 showcased the game that we all know and love, and shouldn’t be an unfamiliar experience for Halo players. However, at the same time, it should still be an exciting experience that shouldn’t be missed.
