E3 2008 Preview

When last we saw The Wheelman, the action-driving title starring and produced by actor Vin Diesel and Tigron Studios, it was at Midway’s Gamer’s Day event a couple of months ago. The game looked like a solid, action-packed take on the action-driving genre with some cool and innovative control elements.

Now, the game is on display at Midway’s booth at E3 2008, showcasing some more new control elements that separate it from the rest. All in all, The Wheelman is shaping up to be a fast-paced and interesting take on action-driving and could be worth a look when it launches.

One of the cool new control elements in the game is the airjack. A clever new addition to the formula, airjack lets you jump from your car onto another, kick the driver out and take control, all without slowing down. This move is easy to do (simply hold down the B button and let go when you’re close enough to jump), but challenging to properly line up and pull off.

Another new addition is a different event mode, called Fugitive. Fugitive has you on the run from a few carloads of opponents as you drive from point A to point B, using gunplay and vehicle melee in order to escape and complete your goal.

The newest elements in The Wheelman are great additions, and should make the game a fun one for fans of action-driving. Look for it this holiday season.
